Her name was Liza.
Being an abuse survivor myself, I am truly grateful to have Nasta Bazar as an advocate and supporter for us all. That is why I decided to dedicate my weekend to designing for the memorial event instead of resting and recharging. It’s been painful to address such a topic, but I rather treat it as a part of my healing journey because admitting what happened to me - is the first step to finding peace with it and learning how to move forward.
I am a survivor of abuse, but my trauma neither defines nor limits me.
I am a survivor - but also I am a creator, a part of the community and so many other things. For example, I am a graphic designer. And here is my work.
I also want to thank all the amazing brave people who joined us in solidarity. Liza’s death is a terrible tragedy but seeing people of various nationalities, identities and backgrounds come together to honour her memory gives me hope for a better future.
